I have an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education, a Level 3 Diploma in ‘Early Years’ and an NVQ Level 3 in Management. In the past I’ve been a child-minder and a nanny but my real passion lies in nurseries - which is why I’ve been a nursery manager for many years now.
Childcare - and childcare practice - have changed a lot over the years, but thankfully what I believe in and strive to achieve have not! That’s why my team and I continue to provide an environment that allows children to grow, develop, explore and have fun - somewhere they feel safe, nurtured and loved. Consequently, we’re very proud of our nursery.
I’ve always loved working in childcare, and have the real privilege of managing a wonderful and caring team here at Lavender Hill. We pride ourselves on the high standard of care that we offer, and commit fully to providing love and individual care to every child and their family who walks through our door. As a parent myself, I know how important it is to find the right childcare for your child, and our dedicated team will do their utmost to ensure that you and your child feel happy and safe, and give you the peace of mind and confidence that you have made the right choice in us.
We occupy a large, recently refurbished and re-equipped nursery in Clapham Junction, with our own garden and outdoor play space
It’s hard to find a day nursery in Clapham Junction – or anywhere in the local area - with extensive and well equipped facilities for both indoor and outdoor play. Situated in our own grounds, our Clapham Junction nursery has both, and we’ve included lots of information about our facilities on our Our Nursery page, and lots of photos of our children at play throughout our website. A big ‘thank you’ to our parents for granting their permission for us to share these photos.
We explain our philosophy and approach to childcare in detail on our Caring For Your Child page. I think that this is particularly important, as not every Clapham Junction nursery operates in the same way. We explain our ‘Key Person Approach’ and how this enables us to know both you and your child really well – and better meet your child’s needs. We also explain how our nursery and outdoor environments contribute to your child’s development with us.
Here at Lavender Hill we have a great partnership with parents – working closely to ensure that we are meeting their individual needs. I strongly believe in creating warm, caring and friendly environments, where children and their families feel cared for, valued and loved - and where they can genuinely feel at home. As children’s primary educators, the relationships we build with parents are as important as the relationships we build with our children. These relationships create a ‘home from home’ atmosphere and help children to feel safe and secure, leaving them free to immerse themselves in play.
We’ve included as much useful information as possible here on our website. You’ll find much of it on our Parent Information page. We’re the only Clapham Junction nursery to open from 7.30am – 6.30pm, Monday – Friday for 51 weeks of the year (we close during Christmas week). We offer a variety of sessions to meet most family’s individual needs - at competitive and inclusive prices. We also offer FREE childcare places for 2, 3 and 4 year old children, and include free nappies and wipes and nutritious ‘home cooked’ lunches and teas – the details of which are all explained on our Parent Information page.
